Spring Open Tournament Recap: Upsets, Triumphs, and Sportsmanship

Last weekend’s Spring Open exceeded all expectations, with 64 players competing across four divisions over three days. Here are the highlights from an unforgettable tournament.

Championship Results

In the Open Singles final, defending champion Alex Rivera faced newcomer Priya Patel in a three-set thriller that had the crowd on their feet. Patel’s relentless baseline game proved too much, winning 4-6, 6-3, 7-5 in just over two hours.

The Doubles championship went to the father-son duo of James and Tyler Morrison, who have been training together in our competitive program for three years. Their chemistry on court was remarkable.

Sportsmanship Award

This year’s Sportsmanship Award went to longtime member Sandra Chen, whose gracious conduct and encouragement of newer players exemplifies everything The Court stands for.
